Original WWI US Air Service Aviator grouping  - 609th Aero Squadron

Grouping consists of wool Tunic, wool breeches with belt, wool side cap, leather flight cap and Song Program dated 1919. This was purchased as grouping

made by Siegel Bros & Goodman New York, no moth holes with all buttons. sawed on to tunic are: 609th Aero Squadron patch, Honorable Discharge Chevron and Overseas Service Chevrons. Attached are US and Enlisted Aviator collar discs, WWI victory medal, and State of Missouri service medal.

Made by Sigmund Eisner Co. Red Bank New Jersey, they have couple of moth holes

Trouser Belt:
Made by Mills with 332 Mills marking on the webbing and 332 Mills and QUMSD tip. Buckle is marked PAT.JAN,12'04

Side cap:
Made by Doniger Bros in Aug. 1918 with attached Aviator Pin. On the maker label owner wrote "Kobrock Private Property" cap has couple moth holes on opposite side of the aviator Pin.

Leather flight cap
Leather is soft and flexible, but tread gave out in some spots. It is missing one piece of leather that will go under chin, other is detached (it wain inside tunic packet) and it is the main chin piece. None of the  snaps were opened all are oxidized and needed to opened with care

609th Aero Squadron was established in January 1918 as a Supply Squadron in Kelly Field, Texas and transferred August 1918 to Mitchell Field, New York. Demobilized: September 1919
